Testimonial for Autumn Duckworth
Autumn was such an incredible and important part of my birth and postpartum experience in April 2026. As a first time mom I had a lot of questions and a good amount of apprehension about birth and Autumn met with us beforehand in person and was incredibly available over text/call in my last trimester. She was so knowledgeable and also very understanding of the type of birth I wanted. I specifically was looking for a doula that would support me in an unmedicated hospital birth and who would balance the understanding that sometimes interventions are needed while also supporting me to get as far as possible unmedicated. Autumn was perfect for this!! She arrived at the hospital shortly after we did and stayed until after my daughter was born. She supported my husband and I through 12 hours of unmedicated labor including multiple hours of pushing. She was a perfect combination of offering positions and changes without asking too much of me, and listening to what I wanted/needed. When interventions were later needed, Autumn was so helpful and supportive in each step, including suggesting some steps that I believe helped avoid a c section. She was a seamless member of the care team, working in tandem with the providers and nurses with the goal of supporting us. Afterwards, Autumn helped with latching/breastfeeding (including coming to our house in the week following birth) and also debriefing the birth experience a few days later. I can't recommend her highly enough!!
