Silvie is the type of person who comes into your life for a short season, yet leaves a lasting impression. I am so grateful I chose Silvie as my doula for my second pregnancy. There are so many doulas to choose from, but it was important to me to find someone who shared similar views and values. I knew I wanted a natural birth without an epidural, as I did with my first. Unfortunately, my first birth was not the most positive experience. I didn’t have a doula, anyone to advocate for me, or anyone to help guide me, especially as a first-time mom. Silvie was all of that and so much more. She advocated for me when needed, helped me explore options before interventions, and provided thoughtful advice that helped guide many decisions throughout my pregnancy. I always felt supported, informed, and empowered. She was also the absolute best person to have by my side during labor and delivery. She helped me with breathing techniques, used a heat pad to alleviate pain, guided me through exercises to help reposition my baby when they were in a less-than-ideal position, and gave me massages to help me relax. She was by my side the entire time, making sure I felt supported. Even after the baby was born, Silvie stayed for a couple of extra hours until everything was settled. I never felt rushed. It genuinely felt like she wanted to be there and make sure I was okay before leaving. That level of care and presence meant so much to me. Throughout my pregnancy, Silvie was always available to chat. She also provided wonderful recommendations for top-notch professionals when I needed support. I trusted her recommendations completely, which took away the burden of having to search on my own. Now that my pregnancy and birth journey is over, I am truly going to miss having Silvie by my side. She became so much more than just my doula, and I hope we will always remain in contact. She will always have a very special place in my heart.
