When I look back on the birth of my son, having Carolynn with me as my doula is one of the biggest blessings of the whole experience. Carolynn was the back up for my doula who was out of town when I delivered, so I hadn't had a chance to get to know her much before. Despite this, I felt comfortable with her immediately. She jumped right in providing very necessary guidance and support. I remember her meeting us at the birth center when I went in for a check and her just taking my hand. It was so comforting. My labor was long and exhausting with PROM and ended in a necessary transfer to the hospital. Carolynn stuck by my husband and me through it all. I trusted her so much as she is very experienced and knowledgeable. She looked out for me and cared for me. She prayed over me. She made the environment more peaceful with her bag of goodies. Carolynn is cool, fun to be around and has such a nurturing presence. She felt like having a mom, sister and best friend by my side. She was a great support and companion for my husband as well. We both feel so grateful to have had her with us. I could go on and on. I will cherish Carolynn and the role she played during my labor for the rest of my life.
