I'm a first-time mom and about a year before ttc I started researching doulas in the area. I came across Becky's website and top-rated Google reviews, and I instantly knew that's who I wanted as my doula when it came time. The day that I found out I was pregnant I couldn't wait to call Becky to hire her. When I spoke with her on the phone, I let her know my fears and worries about labor/birth and she was reassuring with a positive and calm demeanor. My #1 goal was to go unmedicated with little to no interventions and Becky was so supportive all throughout my pregnancy/birth journey. She is extremely knowledgeable and her classes taught my husband and I so much about pregnancy and what to expect during labor/birth. The day I went into labor Becky was very communicative and provided comfort with explaining the best ways to labor at home as long as possible and when to go to the hospital. During my labor and birth at the hospital Becky was such a blessing to have next to me the entire time. She was encouraging with positive affirmations, and she helped me with whatever I needed. She was so attentive and comforting. I ended up achieving my goal of going unmedicated (we as women truly are so strong and CAN do it), but ended up having shoulder dystocia where my baby boy was stuck for 2 minutes. Thank God all went well and our baby boy was born healthy and naturally. Becky remained with us my entire labor, birth and even stayed a while after delivery. Two weeks postpartum we scheduled our follow up visit and we went over the details of my birth story being traumatic from the shoulder dystocia. As rattled as my nerves were, Becky made me feel confident and strong. I felt that her company and words helped provide me the closure that I needed from my traumatic birth. I truly am so incredibly blessed to have had her as my doula and would most definitely have her there by my side again in the future!
