Working with Patty through Doula Love was one of the greatest gifts of my pregnancy and birth experience. Although she was completing her student-doula requirements when we began, she was a student only in title. She was exceptionally knowledgeable, prepared, intuitive, and professional. Even my midwife commented on how skilled and supportive Patty was and was surprised to learn she was still in training.
Patty consistently went above and beyond. During prenatal visits, she was patient, fully present, and never made me feel rushed. She also spent hours supporting me by phone and text as I worked through difficult decisions about induction and my birth plan. She listened without judgment, helped me understand my options, and gave me confidence to trust my instincts.
During approximately 18 hours of unmedicated labor followed by another 10 hours with an epidural, Patty was phenomenal. She stayed by my side, put my needs first, and remained fully attentive despite getting almost no sleep. She took initiative with breathing, massage, movement, positioning, the bath, food, hydration, and creating a peaceful environment. She also guided my husband and mother and worked beautifully with the medical team—kind and respectful, while still being a strong advocate for me.
Although my birth ended in a C-section, Patty helped me achieve what mattered most. She helped me try every reasonable option and make each decision feeling informed and supported. Because of her, I was not left wondering, “What if?” I knew I had done my best and explored every possibility. That gave me peace and closure I did not have after my first birth.
Patty combines warmth and tenderness with confidence, initiative, and professionalism. I recommend her without hesitation. Any family would be incredibly fortunate to have her by their side, and Doula Love should be extremely proud of the doula she has become.
