Nicole was my doula for the birth of my first child. She made me so comfortable and confident in my first birth experience that I don't even want to imagine how it would have happened without her. I made it to the hospital at 6 cm and it was looking like I was going to give birth at any moment. Nicole was at another birth when I let her know I was admitted to the hospital, but she made sure she was with me as soon as possible. She has so much knowledge about positions that could help with opening up the pelvic bones, positioning the baby, and pain relief. It was truly a priceless feeling to have such an experienced and knowledgeable person that was completely supportive and in-tune with me as I labored. My plan was to make it through as much of the birth without medication as possible and Nicole knew exactly what to do to keep me safe and comfortable during the whole process. I ended up getting an epidural and c-section after laboring for about 24 hrs because my baby was not descending possibly due to my pelvic bones being too narrow. But Nicole tried so hard and was giving more than 100% of her effort to support me having a vaginal birth all the way until I was wheeled to the OR. She would have been holding my hand in the OR with me, but unfortunately they didn’t let her in.
I wholeheartedly recommend Nicole to anyone in need of a doula. Nurses and doctors were in and out of the room. My husband never experienced a birth before and didn’t know what to do. But Nicole was fully present, advocated for me, and her presence and recommendations were very grounding and put me and my husband at ease for my first birth. She's amazing!!!
