As first-time parents, my husband and I chose Silvie as our doula because of her extensive experience, evidence-based practices, and warm, calming energy. I had a specific birth plan in mind--unmedicated vaginal delivery--and Silvie supported this plan and provided many resources. But I went into pre-term labor and had complications, such as a partial placenta abruption. Silvie rushed to a hospital that I was not expected to deliver at and stood by my side for two days through labor and recovery. Silvie was a godsend, and my husband and I truly mean that we do not know what we would have done without her. She created a perfect environment in the labor room, and she served as an advocate for me. Because she is so knowledgeable, she was able assess the labor progression and communicate when it became abnormal and risky. She saw warning signs that I would need a c-section even before the doctors did, and I am so grateful that my baby was safely delivered. In labor and in her post-partum visits, I really appreciated that Silvie was encouraging and reframed my thoughts about the labor not going as planned. She is undogmatic, which is not always easy to find in the birthing community. Silvie is simply the best. I would recommend her to all.
