We couldn’t have asked for a better birth and postpartum doula than Cheryl Kluggman and Jessi. From our very first conversation, Cheryl made us feel comfortable and confident. She was incredibly knowledgeable, detailed in her guidance, and very familiar with Penn Medicine’s hospital policies and procedures, which gave us so much peace of mind.

During labor, Cheryl was a constant source of encouragement. Even though I chose to have an epidural, she kept me motivated through pushing, helped ensure I had plenty of skin-to-skin time with my daughter after birth, and supported us with breastfeeding and latching during those precious first moments.

Her postpartum support was equally amazing. As first-time parents, we had endless questions, and Cheryl was always there with thoughtful advice and reassurance. One thing that really stood out was her persistence in helping us find what worked for our baby. We had almost given up on the SNOO because we thought our daughter didn’t like it, but Cheryl encouraged us to keep trying. She was right—our daughter now loves it, and we honestly can’t imagine our nights without it.

She also helped us establish healthy sleep habits early on. Thanks to her guidance, our four-month-old now wakes only once a night for a feed and may soon be ready to sleep through the night.

More than anything, Cheryl became like family. She was kind, patient, supportive, and simply wonderful to have around. We still reach out to her whenever we have questions, and she’s always happy to help. The biggest compliment we can give is that our daughter absolutely loved spending time with her.
