Hiring Britney as our doula was the absolute best decision we made for birth. As a first time mom, I had no clue what to actually expect, but she led us through the whole thing. I don't know how my husband and I would have made it through labor without her.
She has an incredibly calm vibe that kept us centered when things started getting intense. Since both my husband and I are super squeamish around needles, procedures were a huge anxiety for us, but she made us feel so supported. When it was time for the epidural, my husband had to step out, and Britney stayed right there holding my hand through it. She also helped me speak up and advocate for getting the epidural when I needed it, and the timing worked out well.
It was also such a relief for my husband because he could actually step out to grab water or go to the bathroom without feeling guilty or worried that I was alone. We both felt completely looked after.
On top of all that, she was amazing with breastfeeding. She helped us right after delivery and baby latched right away! During postpartum, she taught me a bunch of feeding positions that made my recovery way easier while keeping baby’s latch strong. We’re so grateful for her. If you're on the fence about hiring a doula, I would reocmmend booking with Britney!
