I couldn't recommend Beth (and her partner Christine) highly enough for prenatal, labor/birth, and postpartum doula support. They both have such grounding a reassuring vibes that inspire confidence in oneself and your abilities in labor. They were available over text for questions (and reassurances) big and small. They have a wealth of resources (including registry recommendations, postpartum must-haves, lactation support) that were immensely helpful. They are both IBCLCs and offered incredible lactation support immediately after birth and in the weeks postpartum. They asked thoughtful questions that helped us explore and discuss our hopes and fears around labor and birth in a more structured and intentional way. As a result, after every encounter with them we felt more confident and prepared, less anxious, and more connected to one another.
Beth was present with me for my unmedicated home-birth, and I couldn’t have done it without her. Labor support is not for the faint of heart, and I can attest that Beth has the patience, mental fortitude, and physical stamina to stick by your side for HOURS and hours. She was incredibly grounding for both my partner Sam and me, offering constant emotional support and reminders that we could do this. In labor, when you are your most raw and most vulnerable, I felt completely safe with Beth to “go primal” for lack of a better phrase. She is incredibly understanding and nonjudgmental. When something needed to be said (or heard), she had the words. Somehow she was able to intuite when simple presence was what was needed instead of words. I also absolutely needed constant physical support like hip squeezes to get through every contraction, and I don’t know how else to describe it other than that she really has a special touch- a healing touch - that really helped get me through. Thank you Beth!!
