I reached out to Doulas of Jacksonville and spoke a few times to them while trying to get pregnant about providers & facilities they recommended that were VBAC friendly. Based on my area & preferences, she recommended Haley Garza and let me tell you, the BEST doula I could've asked for. From the beginning, she was so supportive and helpful in getting me to a successful VBAC. She recommended various treatment plans based on how my OB appts went and how baby's positions were. She helped me get my OP baby into prime position through stretches, chiropractor appts, and weekly check-ins. The moment I realized Haley was an actual angel is when she delivered my baby, yes- SHE DELIVERED HER! Part of my birth plan was to labor at home as long as I could and while I was having contractions over 10-15 min apart, I kept in contact with her the whole time. Out of nowhere, my water broke & I felt like I needed to push immediately. We called her, told her what I felt & Haley FLEW to my house. She walked in, placed her hands on my hips & said "we're having this baby here." She guided me through the entire process. She was more than my support person, she was a guardian angel. The calmness in her voice, the clear instructions, and supportive tone is what helped me deliver my baby at home, unmedicated - none of which I planned. EMS arrived right before I started to push and I'm so thankful Haley stayed where she was to deliver because my full trust was in her. There was no one else I wanted there in that moment than her. I truly do not know what I would've done without her. She was the calming presence in a chaotic moment. I am forever thankful and grateful for her. Not only did I get my VBAC, but we all have one heck of a story to tell. If you're looking for someone who will be there for you whenever you need her, helps you through all the wild moments of pregnancy, and will be your biggest supporter- Haley Garza is your girl!
