We cannot recommend Shee Lee highly enough. We originally planned for a home birth, but due to unexpected medical circumstances at 37 weeks, we had to pivot to a hospital birth. That transition was emotional and overwhelming, but Shee Lee helped us navigate it with incredible grace, compassion, and expertise. She offered thoughtful recommendations that allowed us to preserve so many of the elements that were important to us, helping us create a hospital birth experience that felt as close to our original home birth vision as possible.
Throughout labor, Shee Lee was an incredible source of calm. She not only supported me physically and emotionally, but she also empowered my husband with techniques to comfort and encourage me. Having her there gave both of us tremendous relief and confidence. Instead of feeling like we had to figure everything out on our own, we were able to focus on welcoming our baby into the world, knowing we had someone experienced guiding us every step of the way.
One of Shee Lee’s greatest strengths is her communication and advocacy. She worked seamlessly with the hospital staff, ensuring our birth preferences were understood and respected while fostering a collaborative, positive environment. She gently reminded us of our birth plan and our goals when decisions arose, yet she never made us feel pressured. When we decided a change in course was the right choice, she fully supported us and helped us feel confident in those decisions.
By the end of our journey, Shee Lee no longer felt like someone we hired—she felt like family. Her warmth, professionalism, knowledge, and unwavering support made one of the most important days of our lives even more meaningful. We are forever grateful for her role in our son’s birth and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula who will advocate for you, support your partner, and truly care for your family.
