Gabriela did an amazing job as our postpartum night doula. She took great care of our baby girl. For instance, the baby became gassy and fuzzy, and we were not able to effectively address it. Then Gabriela did exercises with the baby and massaged her to help with gas release during her shift, and the baby was much more peaceful the next morning. Gabriela also proactively flagged the issues observed during the night by letting us know about it right after so that we are on top of the baby’s status. Gabriela is also well organized, and documented every activity, such as feeding details, diaper change into our shared app, which makes it very straightforward for us to keep track and pick up when taking over the next morning.
In addition to caring for our baby, Gabriela also helped me with pumping during the night by making it as streamlined and comfortable as possible, so that I can have maximum sleeping time. For someone who was recovering from c-section, the importance cannot be understated. Breast engorgement is a painful experience that a pumping/breastfeeding mom would often encounter, including me, and she also offered very useful tips for relief.
As said by everyone, caring for a newborn could be challenging, especially for the first time parents. Gabriela helped us to adapt to the rhythm with her expertise and compassion. We felt very much supported during the six weeks working with her and would recommend her to any family who are having a newborn!
