We ended up having Maida as a backup doula for us when our original providers got in a pickle. I would say her ability to swoop in, calmly and informed, is what made our birth experience so positive, albiet challenging. Although things veered in a number of directions, Maida reminded us what was important and provided reassuring support. She is a no-judgement gal, and I appreciated her ability to balance both keeping us properly informed in our birth decisions and also connecting us with what our intution and what our gut is telling us. She also provided fantastic physical support and knows how to guide you through intense experiences with her coaching, acupressure points, and belly scarfs, ect -- whatever you may need to get you accross that bridge.
