Mel was our birth doula. It was a fantastic experience getting to know her and having her in the birthing room with us. She will forever be a part of our family's journey.
For us, it was extremely important that our doula be both credible (I can be kind of a stickler if I'm hearing things that don't make sense to me) and very comforting and warm (we were scared!). Mel was a homerun on both counts. She's funny, positive, and truly listens to what you are thinking and feeling. She also has an amazing grasp of the scientific and practial research on birth and can communicate it really, really clearly.
Her many years of experience doing this really shine through, but she treated us like we are the unique family that we are. Looking back I am so grateful that we had Mel by our side. Wouldn't change a thing and can't recommend her enough!
