That paid incredible dividends in the birthing room. As the father, I did not have to worry about interfacing with the medical staff or giving suggestions to my wife. I had 100% confidence that was covered, so I could focus on just being present and supporting her emotionally on the journey. That was a remarkable gift. I didn't know how important it was until it happened.
