Choosing Mel as our doula was the best choice we made during pregnancy. We had briefly considered another doula before speaking to Mel, but after our conversation we knew Mel was the right fit. Mel's approach was tailored to our needs and they deftly handled our indecisiveness. They anticipated what we needed at every stage, from pregnancy through postpartum and answered every question we had (and several we hadn’t thought to ask). Their approach is centered on science and seeing Mel geek out about the different aspects of birth made the whole process joyful. I'm not sure what we would have done if we didn't have Mel during our 36 hour induction, but I know for sure it wouldn't be such a positive and treasured experience. The thoughtful touches Mel brought from teas and body oils during pregnancy, candles and bone broth during birth, and cookies plus a handmade hat for our baby postpartum were especially meaningful.
