If you’re considering hiring a birth doula, I cannot recommend Sarah enough.
From the moment we met her, she made us feel supported, informed, and cared for. She visited us twice before our daughter’s birth, thoroughly reviewed our birth plan, answered every question, and helped us prepare for labor with practical education and encouragement.
Sarah spent over 12 hours with us during labor at the St. Joe’s Midwifery Birth Center in Tacoma. I delivered our 9 lb. 4 oz. baby completely unmedicated, and I truly believe I couldn't have done it without her. She continuously suggested different labor positions and comfort measures that helped me keep progressing while providing calm, steady encouragement every step of the way.
She was also an incredible support for my husband, helping him stay calm and know how to best encourage me throughout labor.
After delivery, I experienced a postpartum hemorrhage and had to be transferred to the hospital. Sarah came with us and stayed until we were settled and comfortable for the night. That level of care meant more to our family than words can express.
Her support didn’t end after birth. She visited us twice postpartum, checked in on us emotionally, answered questions, and encouraged us through the first challenging weeks of parenthood.
One of the things I appreciated most was our shared Christian faith. She prayed with us, encouraged me with Scripture, and reminded me of God’s presence throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. That spiritual support brought so much peace.
Hiring Sarah was one of the best decisions we made during our pregnancy. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, calming, and truly cares for the families she serves. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any expecting parents looking for exceptional support during one of life’s most important moments.
