Testimonial for Jordan Martin

If you are pregnant and wondering whether you need a doula, let me save you the deliberation: you need Jordan

My husband and I went into this well prepared. We’d read all the books, we talked through everything, and I have a deeply involved partner. On paper, we had it covered. But having Jordan was one of the greatest gifts of my entire birth experience, and I can’t imagine having gone through it without her.

We did the package with two in-home meetings before the birth, and it was perfect for us. Jordan came to every meeting with printouts, walked us through techniques, showed us positions, and even brought herbs for me. By the time labor came, we felt genuinely informed and supported rather than just braced for the unknown.

And then she stayed. My labor lasted sixty-six hours, and Jordan was with me for all of it. When my own complications came up and the birth started moving away from the plan I’d hoped for, none of that fazed her. She kept me grounded. She took incredible care of both me and my husband. She made sure the room stayed clean, made sure the nurses were taking care of me, kept a watchful eye on Henry, helped me move through different positions, and found the words to motivate me right when I had nothing left. When it ended in a C-section, she supported me through it in ways I didn’t even know to expect.

Her care didn’t stop at the birth. She helped me with lactation and stood by me after Henry was born and had to have his tongue and lip tie released. Through all of it, I felt loved and cared for in a way that’s hard to put into words.

So many people forget about the mother in all of this. Jordan never does. You can tell this is her life’s work. She loves the mother, she loves the family, and she loves your baby. Even with every change to my birth plan, she helped me have the most empowered birth I could have asked for, C-section and all.
