Searching for a doula was no easy feat. Tata was the fourth doula I reached out to, and by the time I met her in my second trimester, I was honestly tired of interviewing and trying to find someone who truly clicked.
My initial phone call with Tata felt like the universe recharging me and aligning us on each other’s timelines during Aquarius season. Throughout our journey together, her energy remained consistent and authentic. Tata is exactly who she shows up as: supportive, grounded, and adaptable. I was simply looking for someone who could feel like a trusted friend with good energy, and that’s exactly what I found.
Our prenatal sessions were always both fun and informative. One of the highlights of having a summer baby was doing our first prenatal in Prospect Park on a warm April day. Our second session dove deeper into the more serious aspects of birth and newborn care, and it was incredibly valuable to learn from someone with over 8 years of experience.
As for the birth itself, it was a surprise how far along in labor I already was by the time we got to the hospital. Tata managed to arrive just in the nick of time (pun intended, since we ended up delivering during a Knicks game). Having her there allowed my partner and me to fully focus on the experience of bringing our daughter into the world.
Postpartum, Tata has continued to be a great resource, especially with breastfeeding support and sharing helpful guidance for this new chapter of motherhood. My partner and I are truly grateful to have found Tata and Neula Doula. She played an important role in the safe and supported arrival of our daughter.
We highly recommend Neula Doula to anyone looking to feel supported and cared for throughout their birth journey. Neula Doula was worth the investment 100000%. We'll be back for baby #2!
