As an Indian woman giving birth for the first time in Canada, I was overwhelmed and scared. I still remember the first time I had a video call with Phillippa. That conversation alone gave me so much peace.
When I met her in person, I felt such a warm and positive energy, almost like having my mother beside me. When the big day finally arrived, the moment I saw Phillippa in the labor room, I immediately felt relaxed. During every contraction, she was right there beside me, holding my back, helping me manage the pain, encouraging me, and doing everything she could to make me feel more comfortable. There was a moment when I felt like giving up, and my husband was emotional too. Phillippa kept whispering, "You can do it, Kusum. I know you can." Those words gave me the strength to keep going.
Because of her guidance, support, and encouragement, along with my own determination, I had a natural birth without a single stitch. It was one of the most empowering moments of my life, and I truly believe her presence made all the difference.

You were more than a doula to me,you were my strength, my comfort, and my biggest supporter during the most important day of my life.
