Testimonial for Autumn Duckworth
We decided to have a Doula for our second birth experience after being advised by a friend and we are so glad we did. More so, we are so grateful we got someone as wonderful as Autumn. During the prenatal visits, Autumn got to know us as a couple and but more so, she spent a lot of 1:1 time with me to understand what I wanted as a mother, what some of personal fears and anxiety were rooted in (my first birth wasn't easy), and how I envisioned this birth. She took time to understand everything and walked us through all possible scenarios. We felt so prepared going into this birth and a lot of it can be credited to Autumn preparing us ahead of time and walking is through everything. Most importantly, Autumn was so supportive during the labour and delivery. We texted her as soon as I started feeling contractions and we headed to the hospital. She responded right away and met us there as well. From there on, she was a constant source of support for me and my husband. She got hot packs and all kinds of pillows that I did not even know existed to guide me into positions that made the pain more bearable. I felt like there was someone dedicatedly looking out for me - making sure I was as comfortable as I possibly could be. She was my voice and she continued to check in on us after the birth too. Autumn was a source of comfort and support throughout our birthing experience. We are grateful for having her guidance through this birthing journey. Thank you Autumn !
