This was our second birth and second time having Elizabeth for our Doula. With this not being my first birth, I felt more experienced going into the labor and delivery. However, no two births are the same and with this birth, we needed to navigate a planned induction. We had an hour drive to the hospital and because of a sunny side up baby, my body was not going into labor despite being 5cm dialated. Elizabeth was so helpful in giving me practical advice and exercises that I could do in the weeks leading up to birth that were designed to help the baby turn into a more optimal position. However, he just kept going back to his happy place of OP. Elizabeth provided a lot of encouragement and helped me to relax in the days leading up to the birth, as it was easy to start getting stressed out, knowing that the baby was not in a good position. I was scarred to have an induction, but knowing I would have a caring and knowedgable doula to support my husband and I through the process was so reassuring. The induction went so well. Elizabeth walked us through different positions while in labor that helped the baby to turn and by the time I was in transition, the baby had turned to the optimal OA position. Elizabeth goes above and beyond in her support both before and after birth. When we had questions about how to proceed during the induction, Elizabeth was able to give great advice and guide us to a plan that we felt good about. We recommend Elizabeth to all our friends who are looking for a doula. We are so grateful that God directed us to her when we were first looking for someone to support us during the labor and birth experience.
