We were incredibly fortunate to have Autumn as our doula for both of our children's births.
The first time was completely by chance. The hospital has roaming doulas, and Autumn happened to be on shift without a scheduled patient. Looking back, I truly believe she is the reason I avoided a C-section with my first. I had been stalled at 4 cm for six hours, and through her positioning techniques, encouragement, and expertise, she helped get my daughter into a better position. Within an hour, I had progressed to 10 cm. She even came back when it was time to push, knowing exactly what to say and do, and captured photos and videos that we still cherish today.
After that experience, I tracked her down for my second birth because I couldn't imagine doing it without her. I was being induced and wanted to wait as long as possible before getting an epidural. Autumn guided me through different positions to help labor progress while keeping me comfortable. When the Doctors were recommending something I did not want, she helped me trust my instincts and advocate for the birth experience I wanted. She never pushed an opinion—she simply provided the knowledge and support I needed to make informed decisions.
Autumn is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, but what truly sets her apart is her calm, reassuring presence. She is compassionate, completely nonjudgmental, and always in your corner. She empowers you to feel confident throughout your birth experience while working seamlessly alongside the medical team.
I cannot recommend Autumn highly enough. She had a tremendous impact on both of my births, making them positive, empowering, and memorable experiences. If you're looking for someone who will advocate for you, support you, and help you feel confident every step of the way, you won't find anyone better.
