It was truly an honor to be one of Leni’s very first clients. From the moment we met, I could tell this wasn’t just a job for her-it was her calling. The knowledge, passion, and genuine care she brings to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are incredible. What I loved most was how she blended evidence-based practices with cultural traditions and holistic care. Throughout my pregnancy, Leni was there every step of the way. She gifted me a book she wrote that became my pregnancy and postpartum bible, made regular home visits, brought fresh juices, helped me stretch, and checked in daily to keep me accountable for moving my body and caring for myself.
When labor began, Leni guided me through laboring at home, helping me stay comfortable and trust my body. By the time we reached the hospital, I delivered just a couple of hours later. Everything happened so quickly that my husband couldn’t make it in time, but I was never alone. Leni never left my side. She applied counter pressure exactly where I needed it, coached my breathing, kept me grounded, advocated for me when I couldn’t advocate for myself, and gave me the confidence to keep going. She also made sure my birth plan was honored by advocating for a quiet, dimly lit room. I welcomed my daughter into the world exactly as I had envisioned, and Leni even cut her umbilical cord. Her care didn’t end there. She made a beautiful placenta print, prepared my placenta for burial, and handed me the most nourishing bowl of soup I’ve ever had immediately after birth.
Once I was home, she continued bringing homemade bone broth and nourishing meals while checking in on my recovery. Leni didn’t just help me give birth-she cared for me as a whole woman. I will forever be grateful for everything she did for me and my family. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any mother considering a doula. Thank you, Leni!
