Working with Erin as our night doula was the best postpartum decision my husband and I made. From the very beginning, I could sense that Erin had a very warm caring nature and she approached caring for our baby with utmost love and concern. We were struggling with feeding and sleep challenges during the first several months of our baby's life, and honestly I do not know if we would have made it to the other side without the sleep that we were able to get and the insight we were able to incorporate thanks to Erin. She helped us navigate a challenging diagnosis of milk protein colitis and offered very intuitive feedback on what seemed to or did not seem to be working in terms of our feeding plan. She encouraged me to lean into my maternal instincts and make some challenging but ultimately warranted decisions for our baby's nutrition and well being. She also helped us navigate the transition from overnight wakings for feeds to having our baby sleeping through the night in baby's own room. Her suggestions were always relevant and carefully delivered, always though provoking and encouraging. My husband and I didn't have the support of local family during that time, and with time it really felt like Erin became part of our family helping us navigate our transition to parenthood and its early challenges. We continue to stay in touch to this day, not only sharing updates about our child but engaging in thoughtful conversations about how to further improve the postpartum care experience not both babies and their families.
