I was so happy to find Sarah after searching through doula profiles online, and to hear she had experience working with the Kaiser system. She made the process really easy and was very professional and prompt during all our communication before we even met. Her website was really nice and gave me some insight to her background and philosophy of practice. We had 2 prenatal visits and upon meeting, I instantly felt so comfortable and that we were a good match. Sarah respected all my birth plan ideas and really focused on my personal values, she listened to my story and my husband and I felt so cared for. Sometimes doulas can come across intimidating or pushy regarding natural methods but Sarah supported our hospital birth 100%. She was so encouraging during my actual labor and delivery and allowed me to feel like I had an advocate. She followed up with postpartum texts, check-ins, and several postpartum visits to help me as I adjusted to life with a newborn as a first time mom. She allowed me the space to tell her what I needed and valued most at the time and never made me feel like I was doing the wrong thing. She helped fold laundry, wash bottles, feed the baby, rock the baby, etc. I felt so cared for as she checked in to see how I was recovering. She was so encouraging and uplifting which really means the world during such a vulnerable and private time! I'm really lucky I found Sarah and I hope to have her again if we have more kids!
