Lauren was exactly the doula we needed for the birth of our second child. After having our first child without doula support, my husband and I both recognized the benefits of hiring someone for our second delivery, and we are so glad we did. Lauren quickly felt like a friend, but one who is so much more knowledgeable about pregnancy, labor, and birth than we are. Yet, despite all her knowledge, we never felt like she was condescending or pushing information on us that we didn't want. She was so, so calm during labor and delivery, which helped us feel calm and even enjoy the experience. Now that I'm pregnant with my third child, there was no question that we would hire Lauren again. Which is why I'm so sad that she has now moved to Colorado! So, if I can't hire her as my doula again, the least I can do is write her this very-long-overdue testimonial and hope that many expecting parents in Colorado will benefit from her as much as we did.
