Brie was absolutely incredible. From the very beginning, she gave my wife and me a deep sense of calm and peace of mind that stayed with us from the third trimester through labor, delivery, and postpartum.
It started with her pre-labor preparation, which was soothing, nourishing, and empowering. She was always available, whether over Zoom, by text, on a call, or in person. She sent us videos, and articles on what was coming, showed us daily exercises which helped during delivery because our bodies and minds were already prepared, and patiently answered every question. She helped us understand both the short game and the long game of bringing a baby into the world, so by delivery day we felt genuinely ready.
We delivered at NYU, and it was wonderful in large part because of her. She arrived at a moment's notice and stayed from start to finish. The NYU team was excellent too, from nurses to doctors and staff. The one exception was a midwife who turned pushy, but before I could react, Brie had already stepped in. That was Brie throughout: our advocate in the room, kind and encouraging to everyone, yet quick to push back when the moment called for it. With her by our side, my wife's labor was far gentler than we expected.
Her care didn't end at the hospital. The home visits were next level. She looked at our space and gear, offered recommendations which complemented what we had, and helped us find lactation consultants and a night doula suited to our needs. Through it all, she was endlessly patient, always making sure we were set up for success.
What I appreciated most was that Brie believed in modern medicine rather than fighting it. She translated it so we always understood what was happening, and that rare balance of warmth and clarity made all the difference.
Brie was a true gem. We don't know what we would have done without her. I'd recommend her to anyone, and I already have.
