Testimonial for Raquel Manini
We are so grateful to have had Raquel as our doula. We initially met through a virtual consultation, where we talked in detail about my hopes and preferences for labor and delivery. We had planned to meet in person before the birth, but since my baby arrived two weeks earlier than expected, the first time we met face-to-face ended up being during the last two hours of my labor.
Even so, Raquel arrived fully prepared, bringing a variety of helpful tools and equipment to support pain relief and comfort. She also brought thoughtful small items such as a mini fan and honey sticks, which ended up being surprisingly helpful during labor.
I chose to have an unmedicated birth, and with her guidance, encouragement, and expertise, I was able to try many different positions and coping techniques throughout labor. Her support helped me feel confident and empowered, and I was able to deliver my baby safely without pain medication. Because of the natural delivery, my recovery was also relatively quick.
After the delivery, Raquel stayed at the hospital much longer than I had expected (longer than I’ve heard from other doulas). She supported me not only with recovery guidance but also with practical help, including food and basic postpartum care instructions, which made a big difference in those early hours.
Raquel's support did not end at birth. She visited our home several times postpartum and was always there when I needed help, whether it was practical assistance, physical recovery support, or emotional encouragement. Even in urgent situations, she was often able to come on very short notice, which was incredibly reassuring as a new parent.
As a first-time mom, having Raquel by my side was an immense help. I highly recommend her to any family looking for exceptional doula support.
