Jamie was just the doula I needed. I am more of a quiet but high strung, perfectionistic, type A personality. Jamie's slow pace, calm quiet voice helped me to often re-center and regulate throughout my labor. She let me and baby do what naturally occurred and she ways knew just what to do to help when I was having a contraction. She was always by my side but not telling me what to do... it was freeing. I sometimes said "tell me what to do- I need this baby out!" She would then encourage me to make my own choice, I would start to do something and she would watch and join me to help empower me and decrease my pain when it would hit me. She often reassured me when I didnt even seek reassurance. She never appeared stressed but always caring and fully present. She always did the extra thoughtful thing. She also worked great as a team with my husband and communicated great with us both. Overall, I can't stop singing her praises. Getting a doula really does make all the difference in the birth process.
