We cannot recommend Kay highly enough as a birth doula. From our very first meeting, she was incredibly gentle and patient with us, and it was clear she genuinely cared for our family. Her antepartum visits were some of the most valuable preparation we had. She showed us specific techniques to encourage the baby to turn to a cephalic position, and walked us through the techniques. She taught mom a set of exercises to prepare her body for labor, and did massage while teaching us techniques we could continue on our own at home. She is also very knowledgeable. She helped us understand what was happening at each stage of pregnancy, and prepared us for what to expect before, during, and after delivery. Because of her, we went into the birth feeling informed instead of anxious.
On the big day, she was a steady presence through all of it. She helped move mom and change positions to support the delivery, massaged her to ease the pain and loosen her stiff muscles, and knew exactly when mom needed encouragement versus when she just needed quiet. She supported dad too during these emotional moments. Throughout, she kept us calm and informed, explaining what was happening so nothing felt frightening or out of our control. She also helped capture many photos of those precious, emotional moments we'll treasure forever.
Her postpartum visit was just as wonderful. She helped us settle in with our baby, answered the new parent questions we suddenly had, and made those first overwhelming days at home feel manageable.
We felt genuinely supported through the entire experience, and I honestly can't imagine how hard it would have been without her, and trust me, it was very hard. Kay was someone we could truly rely on in our moments of greatest need, and she gave us tremendous emotional and physical support during one of the longest day in our lives.
We wholeheartedly recommend Kay to everyone.
