When labor began, Meghan was a wonderful resource. This was our 2nd baby and 2nd induction, so I had some idea of what to expect while also knowing every birth is different. She helped me feel comfortable with the induction plan, checked in with helpful suggestions as labor began, and came to the hospital the moment I was ready. She provided steady physical support through contractions, emotional reassurance, and helped create an environment where I felt heard and respected.
One of the things I appreciated most was her ability to fully support my choices without ever trying to influence them. She understood that her role was not to shape my birth experience according to her own preferences, but to support the birth I wanted. She offered information and encouragement while always respecting that the final decisions were mine. I never felt judged or pressured—only supported.
Meghan was also an incredible advocate during labor, especially in moments when I couldn't advocate for myself. One example that has stayed with me was when the doctor was preparing to cut the umbilical cord sooner than I had wanted. Meghan calmly reminded the team of my want for delayed cord clamping. I didn't even realize this had happened until I later watched video clips from my daughter's birth. Seeing her advocate for my wishes in those first moments of my daughter's life deepened my appreciation for her support.
We are incredibly grateful for Meghan's care, kindness, and expertise. It truly felt like having a friend in our corner throughout the entire process. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for compassionate, knowledgeable, and unwavering support throughout this journey!
