We had a wonderful experience working with Portland Doula Love, especially with our doula, Chinelo. From pregnancy through postpartum, the support we received helped us feel more prepared, confident, and cared for.
During labor, Chinelo reminded me to request an epidural before my contractions became too intense, and I am incredibly grateful for that guidance. When labor became especially difficult, she stayed by my side, held my hand, counted through contractions with me, and reassured me when I felt like I couldn’t keep going. Having her calm, steady presence was incredibly grounding during one of the most challenging moments of my life.
The support continued after our daughter was born. Our postpartum visit was invaluable, as we had countless questions about breastfeeding, newborn care, and practical things like adjusting the car seat. Chinelo patiently answered our questions and helped us navigate those overwhelming first days as new parents.
