I cannot say enough about how positive our experience working with Barbie as our doula was (and continues to be even several months postpartum). Barbie is everything you would hope for in an advocate during a sensitive and confusing time - she is calm, caring, warm, direct, and knowledgable. Barbie offered many different perspectives about potential options for birth but always supported our decisions immediately with an affirming and compassionate approach. Even when birth turned out to be nothing like our family had planned and hoped for, Barbie was present and reassuring. She stayed with us through long hours, longer nights, and many decision points in our labor and delivery process, and never made us feel like this was a burden on her. In the immediate days and weeks of postpartum, Barbie checked in on us and helped to identify our needs and boundaries with the support systems we had. She even taught us how to give our baby her first bath!! I felt so supported by Barbie that I chose to continue in her Parent Circle and so enjoyed having a continued touchpoint. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Barbie and would choose her as our doula again and again and again. She is an exceptional caregiver for her families and a gift to all new parents!
