Marisa was my doula for my third birth, and was exactly the support I needed. She reached out to me after I had a traumatic birth experience with my second child. She offered empathy, support and education out of the kindness of her heart. When I became pregnant with my third, I knew I wanted to work with her. She was there for me my entire pregnancy with the emotional and educational support I needed. During labor, she was there as soon as I asked her to come, she was present and helpful the entire time, and was a tremendous advocate through a pretty long second stage of labor! She helped me make the decisions that were best for me, keep my anxiety down, and feel secure in my own preferences. I could say much more, but the most important thing for me is feeling confident as a self advocate and Marisa gave me the tools to do that for myself!
