As we approached our due date, I was filled with anxiety about having a hospital birth but wasn’t quite ready for a home birth either. In my search, I discovered the option of hiring a doula and was pleasantly surprised by how affordable it could be. After reviewing several profiles, I felt an instant connection with Diana. When I reached out, she promptly responded and managed to fit us into her schedule, making us feel supported from the very beginning.
Working with Diana was a transformative experience. She empowered us and made me feel like a queen during this journey to motherhood. Her knowledge about the birthing process and the early days with a newborn was invaluable. Most importantly, she respected our decisions and shared her insights only when we sought her guidance.
On 3/19 I sensed that labor was imminent. Diana reassured us that we had time to rest at home that evening before heading to the hospital. Her calm advice allowed us to catch some much-needed sleep. The next morning, as predicted, my water broke naturally, and I was grateful for the rest we had.
During labor, she was a source of strength and comfort. She created a lovely ambiance with lights, music and aromas, making the environment feel warm and welcoming. She introduced me to various tools and techniques to manage the pain and kept me focused when I felt like loosing my center. Her calming presence orchestrated a serene atmosphere for all of us.
One moment that resonated with me was when I expressed my fears about pushing. Diana reassured me with the words, "It's just a bodily function," which helped alleviate my worries.
Once baby arrived, she skillfully assisted with latching, and baby latched right away!
We are so grateful to Diana for helping us bring baby Eden into the world. Truly, my words here do not do full justice to how we feel about Diana. Thank you, Diana! Can't wait for the next baby!
