Throughout pregnancy and birth, our doulas Stephanie and Nikki supported us in so many ways. They came to our house twice before birth, helped us create a birth plan, walked through any fears or emotions either of us had, and answered all of our questions whenever we needed them. Having that support throughout pregnancy helped us feel so much more educated, reassured, and at ease going into birth.
When labor started, Nikki was incredibly supportive and helped guide both of us through the entire process. While I was laboring at home, she helped Alex feel confident knowing when it was time to head to the hospital. During birth, she truly felt like a second set of hands for him — making sure we were fed, helping me through different laboring positions, keeping us both calm, and speaking so many positive affirmations throughout the experience. Her presence brought such a sense of peace and reassurance, and having her there allowed us to feel fully supported and present during one of the biggest moments of our lives.
After birth, they continued checking in on us, came to our house postpartum, and even recommended pediatricians for our baby.
Having a doula made such a difference because it empowered us throughout the entire process and gave us so much peace of mind going into birth. We felt educated, supported, cared for, and far less anxious. It truly was the best birth experience we could have ever asked for.
