Emily was the GREATEST doula and lactation consultant. We were so, so, so fortunate to have found her. My baby ended up being breech, so I had to have a scheduled c-section. When I learned the baby was breech, Emily was such a supportive and caring partner in helping us figure out what to do--we tried everything to turn the baby, including an ECV. Emily even offered to attend the ECV if it would be helpful to us. When the baby didn't turn, Emily walked us through everything she has seen with scheduled c-sections and all of the options we'd be offered throughout the day so we could make a plan in advance. We didn't end up having her attend the c-section itself because you could only have one support person in pre-op and in the OR, but she was 100% ready to do so. She met us at the hospital shortly after we got to the postpartum room where she provided immense support and guidance as a lactation consultant. We worked with two LCs in the hospital and Emily put both of them to shame. She's unbelievably knowledgeable and has the warmest, most steady nature. We were both struck by the fact that she seemed to be in zero rush whatsoever. She was completely present and unhurried. She also did a home visit to offer additional lactation consulting maybe 5 days after I delivered, and once again, we were struck by how perfectly and seamlessly she blended into the scene. We had a lot of visitors over and she seemed totally at home, totally relaxed. She kept the stress at a minimum while my baby and I learned these crazy new skills. She taught me how to use my pump, helped me troubleshoot the latch issues we were having, and generally made me feel confident and prepared for the next year of breastfeeding! My husband and I could not recommend Emily more highly.
