When I was pregnant with my first baby, I met with two doulas, and I immediately felt connected to Pam. She has such a warm, grounding presence, and from our very first conversation I could tell she genuinely listened and cared. She remembered important details about my life, my concerns, my identity, my past experiences, and what mattered most to me throughout pregnancy and birth. That level of care meant so much.
Throughout my pregnancy, Pam was consistently there for every question, concern, and moment of uncertainty. She checked in often, visited me in person, helped me prepare with movement and massage techniques, and reinforced what I was learning in childbirth and breastfeeding classes so I felt informed and confident instead of overwhelmed.
One moment that really stayed with me was when I was trying to express colostrum late in pregnancy. I felt frustrated and discouraged because barely anything was coming out. Pam reassured me, helped me get into the right mindset, and encouraged me not to give up. Right after our call, I successfully expressed a full vial. Having colostrum ready before labor gave me so much confidence with breastfeeding.
When early labor started, I didn't know how to approach it, and Pam helped both me and my husband go through the day with confidence instead of anxiety. During labor at the hospital, she kept me moving, supported me constantly, and created such a steady, reassuring presence. Looking back, I truly would not change anything about my labor experience.
At 5 weeks postpartum, Pam continues to check in, help me through breastfeeding struggles, answer my questions as a first-time mom, and make me feel supported during such a vulnerable transition.
I’m incredibly grateful for Pam. Before pregnancy, I wasn't sure about having a doula. Now, I cannot imagine going through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum without Pam.
