Teresa has been a godsend for our family, and if you're still looking around for Doulas, stop now and just book her! She started working with us a couple of days after our first child's birth, through roughly 3.5 months old. At baseline Teresa is highly reliable: showing up roughly 15m early everytime to debrief on changes, logging all events overnight, and staying a few minutes late to again debrief. But much beyond this, Teresa acted as a loving caretaker ("third parent"), incredible teacher to two new parents, and a supportive friend. To our baby, she was loving, gentle, pateient, and highly communicative. In the first few weeks of constant feedings and changing, Teresa always showed up excited and positive, happily talking to our child, and working nonstop to keep her clean and happy. As she aged, Teresa kept an eye on growth markers and engaged deeply with our baby when she was awake to entertain, talk and listen. To us as parents, Teresa was an unforgettable teacher - we genuinly learned how to talk to our daughter from Teresa, we learned tips on diapering, handling purple crying (oh the Happy Song!), entertaining a bored baby with textures, caring for dry skin, handling diaper rash, making friends with new parents, setting up a bed time routine, and so so much more. Teresa was a full textbook of knowledge, with advice delivered in a warm and encouraging manor. Our daughter progressed smoothly through her first few months, and I attribute a large part to the continual feedback and advice from Teresa. Finally, it was amazing to see that Teresa proactively helped with tasks around the house: folding baby clothes, loading/unloading bottle wash, and unloading our dishes. We never needed to ask, Teresa genuinly enjoys finding ways to help.
We are so grateful for choosing Teresa and having her support; our only wish would have been to keep working with her longer!
