I am so thankful that I decided to work with a doula throughout my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey—and even more thankful that I was paired with Heather. From the very beginning, Heather was kind, positive, soft-spoken, knowledgeable, funny, and incredibly empathetic.
Heather’s background makes her such a well-rounded doula, and her knowledge of herbal medicine was an added bonus. During our prenatal visits, she took the time to truly get to know both me and my husband. By the time I went into labor, she felt less like another person in the delivery room and more like a close friend supporting us through the experience.
Throughout labor, Heather was extremely hands-on and attentive, always checking in to make sure the support she was providing was actually helping and bringing relief. I especially appreciated that she always asked permission before trying any technique or offering physical support—it felt very respectful and empowering.
My labor and delivery did not go according to the birth plan I had envisioned, but Heather remained a constant source of support through every change and unexpected decision. She consistently checked in with me emotionally, made sure I felt informed and comfortable, and answered any questions I had along the way.
Postpartum, Heather has continued to be supportive without ever feeling overwhelming. She checks in not only on my daughter, but on my husband and me as well. Sometimes it’s simply nice to have someone to talk to outside of family, and Heather truly cares about the well-being of the entire family unit.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Heather, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone considering working with a doula.
