Meema spent 10 weeks with us after the birth of our second child. It was always a relief when she entered. She knew how to soothe baby, and had a magic touch for putting her down for naps. She made the most delicious food. I am still wondering how she did it because I'm using the same spices and nothing is turning out as yummy as her cooking. Meema had a wonderful connection with both our baby and our older child. She simply gets the insanity of the postpartum period - she always knew what needed to be done and she knew how to help. As a second time mom, I was not expecting a difficult postpartum. As it turns out, I went through some of my darkest hours just days after the ecstasy of childbirth. Meema really held us all through that period. We experienced a number of life upheavels immediatley after the birth, and Meema brought light, humor, and tremendous compassion to our household when we really needed it.
