As a first time Mom, I knew that having a doula on our side was paramount. We were placed with Giulia by our birthing clinic and it truly couldn't have been a better match. Giulia is knowledgeable in her field, and curated a sense of realism and honoured our wishes as much as possible throughout the process with undue care all the while. Our birth ended in an elective c-section due to a failed induction but she was with us the whole way, emotionally and physically when possible. My only consideration looking back is that I should have asked for more support and guidance throughout early labour, but it being my first, I didn't realize what kind of support would benefit me most.
