Barbie was AMAZING. I truly cannot imagine our experience if she hadn’t been there. I had my first daughter in December, and Barbie made me feel as prepared and calm as I possibly could going into something so new, unknown, and intense.
The time we spent together during my pregnancy made me feel informed and ready. She gave me insight into decisions I’d need to make and things I should be thinking about that I absolutely would not have been prepared for without her expertise. She helped me feel confident going into birth instead of overwhelmed. She also helped prepare my husband and showed him how he could best support me during labor and birth, which was so valuable. It made us feel like we were going into the experience as a team, and I know it helped him feel more confident and prepared too.
During labor, Barbie was honestly almost all I saw. When things felt intense and I was overwhelmed, I looked to her for guidance. She truly walked me through every moment and made me feel like there was someone in the room who genuinely had mine and my daughter’s best interests at heart. She knew what I wanted from my birth experience and advocated for me, without any other agenda.
Afterward, she sat with us and helped us process the experience, even sharing a timeline of everything that happened — moments I honestly would never have remembered otherwise. She even came over and made food for us during those early postpartum days, at a time when that was exactly what I needed.
The one thing I already know about any future birth is that Barbie will absolutely be there again. She was one of the best decisions we made for our care team and for our family, and I am so, so grateful we chose her. We truly could not recommend her more.
