Choosing Anna as a doula was one of the best decisions I made in my pregnancy. Immediately upon meeting her I felt a strong sense of calm. She is an incredibly attuned listener who allowed me the space to articulate my priorities and needs related to birth without judgement. She was able to provide many tangible resources, and always took time to talk through any questions we had. We loved the dream birth exercises she did with us, and how they helped us feel connected to our baby. Her prenatal care was so informed and supportive, but her skill set really shined during labor. While my partner and I felt informed about what to expect, there were many moments when I felt lost and I truly don’t know what we would have done without her with us. There were many challenging moments, and Anna’s steady presence was a calm in the storm- providing insight on how to allow labor to progress, encouraging me, providing supporting positioning, providing acupressure. My goal was an unmedicated birth, and I’m not sure I would have been able to accomplish this without Anna’s guidance and support. I labored for 28 hours, and Anna remained with us for the entire time, ensuring that we felt cared for post labor. Her postpartum support helped us process the experience. We are so grateful to have worked with her and can’t recommend her support enough.
