My fiance, my baby, and I are so blessed that our midwife connected us with Vicki for our home birth. After interviewing a few different doulas, no one seemed quite right, until we met Vicki. She immediately came off as a brilliant, trustworthy, and passionate doula. When we met in person I immediately felt safe from judgement and free to be myself with her. She has the type of adaptable, easy going personality that allows her to fit into any situation, space, and group of people. She put my fiancé at ease on the day of the birth, and helped to empower him during my labor. She got my stubborn ass to do everything she suggested in the most magically un-pushy way, whether I wanted to do it or not, which allowed my baby to reposition and come in to the world as easily as possible, without pain medication or hospital transfer. She worked well with my midwife and her birth assistant. All five of us were crammed into a tiny studio apartment and yet we fit like puzzle pieces. I remember seeing her sitting on the floor between my bed and the wall as I lay in bed with my baby and thinking what a happy camper this Vicki was. She radiates with a good attitude and optimistic point of view. Anybody would be lucky to have her attend their home birth.
