Testimonial for Cari Aida
Our first birth was long and difficult, made worse by the fact that we had no support from our medical team. We went from wanting a drug free birth to using every drug/epi intervention during the birth. Because of this, we knew we wanted a doula for our second birth. Suzanne and Cari came into our lives highly recommended by a friend who had recently hired them for her birth.
Suzanne and Cari also did an in person visit after the initial call. It was clear how much they cared about our family as a whole. From making an effort to get to know our pets and make them comfortable, to getting to know and understand our older son who has special needs. Suzanne and Cari understood that as a second time mom already overwhelmed with a high needs son, my check in conversation needed to be geared to the postpartum and self care aspect of birth/pregnancy. I felt so seen and heard talking to them about postpartum depression awareness. I was so impressed by Cari’s pregnancy and postpartum booklet. It was filled with all the information I needed for the fourth trimester. It made me feel so assured knowing that she was so informed and knowledgeable about the entire process.
During the pregnancy, Cari chatted with me on Zoom for our routine check ins to make sure that I was supported during the pregnancy. I had a couple of small scares during the pregnancy and felt much better after discussing next steps with Cari. Cari also always made herself available via text and phone call whenever I had questions regarding my symptoms.
I am truly so thankful for both Suzanne and Cari for their care. They were always there and are still there through the postpartum and newborn phase. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for a doula!
