How do I even begin thanking Lauren for being such an angel and tremendous support during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum?
I met three doulas before choosing Lauren and it was the best decision I've made.
To begin with she made sure to check up on me after my appointments and to discuss my symptoms, fears, anxiety etc. She helped me create the birth plan and ensured I knew what my options were.
I was so scared of delivery (literally it was my biggest fear) but Lauren explained everything and gave me some insight into each possibility and she explained it far better than any provider did. But most of all: she was there every step of the way, she was there whenever I needed her: with advice, shoulder to lean on, listening ear, helping massage aches and pains away and holding gazillion emesis bags during delivery.
She stuck with me through hours and hours of pushing and ensured to keep me on track by gently counting and reminding me what to do.
She barely had the time to use the bathroom or drink water cause she prioritized me, and with how overwhelmed and scared I was at the time it felt reassuring to have her next to me.
She was not just a doula, she was my best friend and shoulder to lean on during delivery- and I will forever be grateful!
She made sure to help with the first breastfeeding and made sure to show me how to make corrections with the baby to get a proper latch for which I'm grateful for ...because the first night when you're alone and need to feed your baby it's overwhelming if you don't know what to do.
