I met Rachel through Howard Alumni facebook group and we were trying to connect on the strength of being apart of the same graduating class. But then she shared she was a birth worker & the conversation shifted.
Fast forward to me finding out I was pregnant again with my second set of twins and uncertainties surrounding being able to travel back to Missouri for home birth began to rise. I asked Rachel if she’d be my plan B in case Tennessee would be place of delivery & she prayed about it before saying yes.
Not only is she knowledgeable surrounding birth work, she provides you with the evidence based resources to back it up. She’s patient she’s calm she’s kind she’s resourceful. She made my first home birthing experience feel safe & capable. Rachel set the tone & I wouldn’t have been able to bring my babies earth side without her support.
Providing support to a mom so late in gestation (I think I was 28/29 weeks) is no easy task. While my situation was unique due to receiving services elsewhere, Rachel still made sure I understood her bottom line, the way she handles preparing for birth, and that mindset/thought process would be the most crucial piece of reaching full potential for the birth experience I desired.
P.S.
My babies were her first twin delivery & she rocked the show! If I happen to get pregnant again I will hire Rachel again!
